Founding General Assembly
In accordance with the discussion with some of you on Friday 12 December and others by telephone in recent days, please find here your invitation to attend the founding general assembly of a Business Association devoted to act in the interest of real estate development enterprises of Cambodia, under the preliminary working name:
"Real Estate Developer’s Association of Cambodia"
"REDAC".
Subject to the founding General Assembly which is to be held as per below, the Association would have the following objectives:
1. Representation of the business interests of real estate development enterprises and enterprises that are associated with real estate development
2. Promotion of corporate responsibility and environmentally friendly real estate development practices
3. Facilitate the coordination and interaction between the members
4. Collect information, research and report on issues relevant to real estate development
5. Communicate with government authorities, trade organizations and business associations, and all other organizations in the interest of the above.
It is suggested that the Association shall be open to Cambodian and foreign real estate developers/enterprises that are associated with real estate development.
All related institutions are hereby cordially invited to attend the founding General Assembly of the Association, which is scheduled for 19 December at 14.00 at DFDL Mekong office (45, Suramarit Blvd at Independence Monument). Kindly let us know if you are able or interested to attend. DFDL been asked to draft standard statutes (and minutes of the General Assembly) for the Association which are to be registered at the Ministry of Commerce.
Once constituted, the business association is required to be registered with the Trade Promotion Department (the "TPD") of Ministry of Commerce ("MOC"). In view of the urgency, our objective is to register the statutes first, and then to fine tune the internal rules and expand the membership. The members must provide the following documents, which we can collect at the Assembly or later on:
1. List of all members including their contact details (if company, name and contact details of the representative must be also provided);
2. One copy of ID Card or passport (and visa page) of all members or representatives;
3. Passport sized photos (number will be provided) of all members or representatives;
The agenda for the founding General Assembly is as follows:
1. General discussion on the objectives of the Association;
2. Name;
3. Membership and accession of new members;
4. Management;
5. Registration and publication;
6. Finance, address and secretariat;
7. Other issues.
